RE: Closing up the trailer for the winter - moisture & mice?

For moisture we put kitty litter in cupcake papers and place them at various parts of the trailer. Also leave the vents open a crack (We use the Maxxi Vent covers.) We have never had any moisture problems.

RE: Traveling with fresh water tank full

Depending on the location of your water tank it could affect you tongue weight. It is important to know your tongue weight and what the added water weight would do to it, because this could also affect handling. Same thing applies if the tank is behind the axles.

Who has time to download a file that big? 1173 mb, 47 hours on a dial up, that's a full week of work.

RE: city water hose connection

Replace the screen and rubber washer (They are one unit). The washers have a tendency to dry out.

RE: TT Lights

I had the same thing happen. I don't know what you tow with but I have a 2005 Chev 2500 Duramax Diesel and the tow package has a separate set of fuses. There is a 10 amp fuse that controls the right side blinker and brake light on the tow vehicle, truck lights worked fine. I burned the fuse out when towing my boat trailer and accidentally shorted out one of the wires on the boat which blew the fuse. Put a new fuse in and everything works great.

RE: Dryer Sheets

Moist (with water) dryer sheets work great for removing those nasty splattered bugs on the front of the RV or TV after a trip.

RE: LCD TV

One thing to look for when purchasing a new TV is the location of the speakers. Some have them on the sides, top or bottom instead of the front so you can hear them without the sound be cranked up so loud it disturbs the neighbors.

RE: Shower hose guide

Like others, I just cut mine and spread it apart to get the hose in or out. I have been doing this for many years on different trailers and haven't had one break yet.

RE: Saving the world - one campfire at a time.

Before anything like that happens they need to visit the farm states. Here they burn the ditches, raked up straw and corn stalks in the fields after harvest, burn off CRP land (Government program that takes farm land out of production and pays the farmer to let the weeds grow). Some days it is so smoky you would think there is forest fire - except with don't have a lot of forests in ND.

RE: Leave slide out while away??

We have had a trailer (with double slides) on a seasonal site for the past 10 years and have left the slides out all season for all ten years. This year we opened in April and then got snow on it. No problems. I do inspect the slides and roof a couple of times each season. Do what makes you feel comfortable and causes you the least amount of stress.

RE: Hose Carrier on the TT

I just used some metal pipe strapping found at the local hardware store. You can get a ten foot roll for about $1.50. Here is link to the type of stuff I am referring to. Pipe Strapping

RE: $4 a gallon? Not at some places......

Read an article in local paper about a small town here in ND that has the same problem and they were going to put out a sign saying the price was per half gallon. The local owner couldn't afford the price of new pumps.

RE: Sewer hose carrier - enclosed underbelly

I also have an enclosed under belly and I have mine mounted on top of the rear bumper, only for ease of access. I have also seen them mounted under the rear bumper. In my bumper I carry an extra hose with a extension that will allow me to connect two hoses for the long reach (which I have had to use several times).

RE: Flojet Macerator Pump

I have used mine many times and it works real well especially if your don't have easy access to a dump station. Your can run the hose to any septic tank and dump that way. I use my at home to dump into my septic system. You will probably need to add some wire to make the hook up reach your battery, they don't ever seem to be long enough. (This depends on where your battery is located.)
You will need a water hose (old one) to discharge the waste that it grinds up and if you want to flush the tank after draining you need a water connection and a hose.
